DiveThru Job Board
Community Engagement Intern
Description
Are you the type of person who can strike up a conversation with just about anyone? Do you love being out in the community, making connections, and bringing positive energy wherever you go?
If you’re still reading, it means you’re the perfect fit! Sooo... Hi! We're DiveThru. Through our in-person studios and online platform, we provide mental health support, designed with today’s generation in mind. Our services include therapy and psychological assessments. We also partner with organizations to make mental health support more accessible for their teams.
We’re looking to add a Community Engagement Intern to our DiveThru Crew!
The Community Engagement Intern will help us spread the word about DiveThru and our mission to make mental health more accessible (and way less intimidating). Whether it’s chatting with folks at our booths, sharing our iconic mental health stickers, or repping our brand at local hotspots, you’ll play a key role in growing our community and reducing stigma around mental health.
Here’s What You’ll Get By Joining Our Team:
- A meaningful 4-month internship focused on reducing stigma around mental health
- Hands-on marketing experience in a mission-driven organization
- Ability to attend professional development and mental health related workshops
- In house training on mental health and ethics to ensure you’re engaging with community members appropriately and routing to appropriate resources
- The chance to get out in the community, meet new people, and have fun while making a real impact
- Ability to participate in our Community Impact Program — a program that pays you to volunteer with your favorite charity once a quarter
Ready to join us? Okay, let’s talk about the official stuff:
Your General Responsibilities:
- Attend local events, markets, and community spaces to connect with the public and raise awareness about DiveThru
- Represent the DiveThru brand and values with warmth, confidence, and professionalism—while upholding ethical standards around mental health communication
- Distribute DiveThru materials (brochures, posters, and our iconic mental health stickers) at designated locations across the city
- Engage meaningfully with community members to spark conversations around mental health and share information about our studios and services
- Create fun, authentic content while you're out and about (photos, videos, stories) that can be used on DiveThru’s social media channels
- Monitor local events and community happenings—bring ideas to the team about where DiveThru should show up next
- Track and report on your activities to help us understand reach, engagement, and what’s working
- Support studio openings, special events, and local campaigns as needed
As DiveThru continues to grow and evolve, so will this role! We’re looking for someone who embraces change with curiosity and flexibility — someone who sees evolving responsibilities as a chance to grow, develop, and make an even greater impact.
Your Skills:
Our ideal candidate brings the following skills to the table:
- You’re outgoing, approachable, and energized by meeting new people—you know how to engage in meaningful conversations and leave a lasting impression
- You’re passionate about mental health and breaking stigma—you genuinely care about making a difference in your community
- You take initiative and stay one step ahead—you don’t wait to be told what to do, you find ways to contribute
- You’re flexible and quick-thinking—able to adapt when plans shift and still show up with confidence
- You’re a self-starter who thrives working solo, but you’re also a team player when collaboration calls
- You’re organized, dependable, and manage your time like a pro—even when juggling multiple moving parts
- You’re confident repping a brand in public spaces and don’t shy away from being the face of something you believe in
Considered a Plus:
- Experience in marketing, promotions, or street team-style activations
- Familiarity with the local Edmonton community and events scene
- Content creation skills (photo/video for social media)
Requirements:
- Because this role takes you all over the city, you’ll need access to reliable transportation (bonus points if you’ve got a car!). You should also feel comfortable transporting promotional materials like posters, stickers, and other goodies.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this role will be between $17 - $20 per hour (dependent on grant funding).
Hours of work
This is a part-time role. We are looking for someone that is able to work 5–15 hours per week, including daytime, evenings and weekends depending on events and activations.
Job Type
This is a temporary 4-month long internship.
Location
This isn’t a sit-at-a-desk-all-day kind of internship! You’ll be out and about across Edmonton and the Greater Edmonton Area—whether that’s hitting up local events, participating in community spaces, or spending time at our DiveThru Studios (Central, Whyte Ave, Windermere, and St. Albert).
